If you have ever screamed a '90s country chorus in a bar parking lot, or said "just one more song" and then closed the place down, this one is for you. Tailgate Revival is throwing its 10 Year Anniversary Concert outdoors on Main Street in downtown Evansville on Saturday, September 26, and the whole Tri-State is invited.

The band that started out in Evansville bars in 2016 now opens for Lynyrd Skynyrd and Lainey Wilson. And they are coming home to blow out the candles.

Quick heads up before we go any further: tickets are $15 online right now. On Saturday they jump to $25. And there are zero tickets sold at the gate. (Read that twice. Then forward it to the group chat.)

Tailgate Revival kicked off in 2016 as the kind of band that makes a Tuesday feel like a Saturday. Big '90s country, today's hits, and a frontman in a white cowboy hat who treats a corner bar like a sold-out arena. Evansville figured it out fast. Then Nashville did.

Now Nashville-based, the band became a staple on Broadway at spots like Ole Red and Whiskey Bent Saloon. They have provided direct support for Lynyrd Skynyrd, Travis Tritt, Lainey Wilson, Riley Green, Trace Adkins and Clay Walker, and the full list runs more than 35 names deep, from Collin Raye to Chase Rice. Not bad for a band that used to load in through the back door of Tri-State bars.

In 2024 and 2025 alone, they played Hoofbeat Festival in Wisconsin (Lainey Wilson, Tyler Hubbard), Field of Dreamz in Florida (Cole Swindell, Brantley Gilbert) and the Grand Ole Opry's 100th Birthday Plaza Party. They write their own stuff now too, starting with the '90s-flavored love song "Enough of You" in 2023, with new singles landing on every streaming platform since.

The lineup just got bigger. The band expanded the bill to five acts, and the music starts ten minutes after the gates open. Here is the running order:

That is a Mt. Vernon native up first, a Boonville singer-songwriter in the middle (Gavin plays acoustic country in the Tyler Childers and Zach Top lane, the kind that shuts a patio up mid-conversation), and the hometown heroes on last. Show up early. The openers are part of the party, not the waiting room.

Frontman Blake Billman is an Evansville native, and this band cut its teeth in Evansville-area bars long before Broadway came calling. Shriners Fest. A Sparkler Jam at Deaconess Sports Park. Tiki on Main. If you have lived here a minute, there is a real chance you have already sung along with these guys and did not know it was the start of something.
